Meet Bryan Hartzell, AMFT

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #134338

Bryan is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #134338, working under the licensed supervision of Judy Benvenuto, LMFT #88175. Bryan sees clients in person in Tustin, as well as through telehealth. Bryan employs a guided approach with clients where he will walk with them at their side with the struggles they face to meet them head-on. Bryan is committed to assisting clients in learning from their past, so they may be fully aware and experience the present and look forward to their future.

Bryan works with clients in a manner as to result in acceptance of thoughts and emotions so they may take action toward what they value in their lives. Bryan enjoys going in great depth with his clients on a path of self-discovery to yield newfound self-awareness. This fosters insight for clients who recognize changes they wish to see in themselves and previously unseen choices in moving forward. His work with clients can range from individual work to couples and families. While Bryan is prepared for a variety of topics that clients wish to work on, he is well versed in treating addictions such as substance and alcohol abuse, adolescent behavior problems, parenting, school issues, grief, men’s issues, stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma/PTSD.

Bryan strives to assist clients in developing multiple areas of their lives for well-rounded fulfillment. This can look like developing new outlets for stress, hobbies, better communication and skills in relating to others, and introspection into a client’s path for themselves. Bryan achieves this through his training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Humanistic therapy. All of which he utilizes a guided approach to instill motivation in clients to meet the goals they have set out in the therapeutic process.
