Meet Vicky Truong, AMFT & APCC

Vicky is a Registered Associate Marriage Family Therapist #125863 and an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor #9440 working both in-person and remotely with clients in California under the supervision of Judy Benvenuto, LMFT #88175. She is committed to helping clients deepen their connections to themselves as well as to those in their lives, while simultaneously empowering them to navigate the world with a sense of agency, confidence, and fulfillment. One can expect a collaborative, culturally sensitive approach that is consistent with components of warmth, attentiveness, and sincerity.

Vicky earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego. She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology (with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy) from Pepperdine University. She is also currently a Psychology, Public Policy, and Law Ph.D. candidate at Alliant International University. She has had the opportunity to serve children, adolescents, and their families at a nonprofit organization in Garden Grove, California. She has also provided services at a community counseling clinic in Irvine, California, where she worked with individuals, couples, and families. She has also worked at a nonprofit organization in Tustin, California, where she provided therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families.

Vicky’s therapeutic approach is through a post-modern/narrative orientation that is non-pathologizing and strengths based. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (“EMDR”) for clients seeking to stop the effects of trauma from interfering with their present lives. She is LBGTQIA+ affirming and diversity honoring. She has had experience with treating symptoms of anxiety, depression, addiction/substance abuse, burnout, mood disorders, trauma, and distress due to relational and systemic issues.
